Voted By Familes Like Yours! North Carolina's Finest.......Oak Islands Favorite !
Welcome to NC's Favorite Fishing Pier's website! Many North Carolina angling families refer to us as their "Fishing Home Away from Home" and thats also true of those spending time here in cyber space! The Ocean Crest Pier website was designed with you in mind. Its updated regularly so that our reports and photo's represent the "Newest" and most informative exciting day-to-day happenings. We're striving to invest in the lastest technologies making sure our webpages reflect the needs of the customers.
We're sincerely thankful for our anglers continued support. This past 2009 Fishing season was Fantastic to say the least here at Ocean Crest and we're postive 2010 well be as well.
Your Success is our Success! Whether that be a parent or grand parent introducing a child to their first catch or an experienced angler seeking a trophy sized bag, both are recognized memories of a lifetime and important to all of us here at Ocean Crest. The anglers visiting and plying their skills and talents here over these past seasons as well have given their all producing personal best and pier record setting successful fish catches. The pier holds the islands record weight catch for a "Silver King" aka Tarpon at 97 lbs. Ocean Crest Pier anglers like King Fisher Bo Crump holds firmly to the islands official pier record (May 7th 1998-current) for the largest King Mackerel ever caught, at 53 lbs 6 oz's. Wow! Also included among past seasons catches were countless numbers of tournament winning, derby and personal best catches of beautiful Cobia, Tarpon, King Mackerel, Speckled Trout, and Flounder as well a variety of favored bottom fishes including some very nice Atlantic Pompano and Whiting aka Virgina Mullet. During this past 2009 season, we also witnessed jr angler Thomas Cutler add his name to the record boards with a 27 lb 7 oz Tripletail. The catch earned Thomas a honored "North Carolina State Record Award". His catch and record will be hard pressed to be out matched. The in's & out's of fishing are important to our patrons in the same fashion they are to us. It helps fishers catch more of their favorite fishes which inturn puts smiles on their faces. We're honored having you visit our website and enjoying the photographic evidence of such feats and we truly hope those visits motivate your joining us for the Fun and Excitement in person........soon.
Ocean Crest Pier recognizes the ever changing economy and how it effects coastal salt water anglers and their families recreational fishing budgets. These undue changes have certainly put a new face on old traditions and a way of life. It's obvious too, that lots of familar North Carolina's coastal fishing piers have gone with the tides of change never to return.
We're proud, with your support, we've weathered the continuing down turns in the economic climate encroaching our North Carolina coastal towns and cities here at Ocean Crest Pier.
Many folks have asked, and yes, it is true that Ocean Crest Pier is the last fully operational privately owned recreational fishing pier on Oak Island. It is also one of the fewer than a dozen or so piers in North Carolina in operation at all under private ownership and traditional operations which favor anglers and their time fishing being successful. Its worthy of mention there are no additional cost burdens created here at Ocean Crest Pier that are collected from the islands visitors, local private and business property owners via taxing powers used subsidizing the cost of the piers operations. This is common practice with municipal operations like those at the Town of Oak Island Pier. Simply put folks, we've worked hard here building, investing and holding our own market share here at Ocean Crest Pier. Our success and longevity in the regional market place can only be accounted to having delivered, a family safe environment, knowledged based angler information and customer service with a genuine smile of gratitude. These shall remain our top priorities this 2010 season. Its imperative to the Ocean Crest Pier organization, your time spent here is a positive experience. One worth repeating. Its a simple formula based upon our understanding, that fore thought and equal respect, equates to mutual successes. Our continually setting new goals and understanding our responsibilties to our patrons in order we succeed are a mainstay here, setting us a mile a part from other coastal North Carolina recreational fishing pier businesses. Goals we'll continue aiming towards as we move further into the new year during 2010. If we have, at the end of the day, we can all proudly say..........We've all had a earned and successful day here.
We're Prouder than ever saying " Ocean Crest Pier is Rock Solid in the North Carolina angling Community", knowing we'll be here during 2010, serving your families that have picked us as their final angling destination.
Please visit here often and if you do it will surely motivate your visiting the deck of the pier, gear in tow! The photographic images of the Ocean Crest Piers anglers and their accomplishments posted on our site are of real persons just like yourselves, friendly bragging rights are also included! Please take the time to visit our message boards, post your comments, and share those fishing secrets and suggestions, or simply visit the boards just to say hello!
Folks it's fantasic having you bring your families and friends and making them a part of the excitement too. We'll do our best sharing with you and the world via the website the day to day happenings of " Your Home Away From Home ". We're honored having all the wonderful opportunites meeting you in person and having you become members of our extended Ocean Crest Pier family ! Please make yourselves a part of it often!
