Trying to put togetther a trip and have never fished Ocean Crest before, mostly fish the piers of bouge banks (what there is left ) I have been reading this site for some time and need a pin rigging fix. What wind direction is preferable for king fishing and what speed and direction makes the water too dirty or unproductive.

I am sure Dave will correct me if I am wrong, but as memory serves, Ocean Crest Pier points Due South. Therefore any winds coming from the south, or south east are the most preferable conditions. Winds coming from due west are the ones that for some reason make the water the dirtiest.
Dave and others here know much more than I about the specifics, but that should give you a rough idea. Also when Dave posts pictures in the gallery, he writes the wind conditions etc in the description normally. You can search the gallery using the search function and look at the past catches and weather conditions. A Farmer's Almanac or something similar will give you the tides and temps for those days in which kings were caught! Plan accordingly, the season looks to be heating up fast!
